Morning on August 17th, 2016. Our friends had been riding with us from Kastoria to Neapolis, Kozani. Our cycling trip to Rhodes had just begun!

Next day on August 18th in beautiful Kalampaka. Behind us Meteora. Huge, imposing rocks. What a phenomenon!

Crossing Trikala, Lamia, Thiva and so on…

Somewhere in Thiva
On 22 August we took the boat from the port of Piraeus to Rhodes. A 15-hour trip and finally we arrived. An island with rich history and mythology. Beautiful beaches, wines and lots of figs. We stayed in Ialysos and we spent a few days of swimming and walking around in the center of Rhodos.
The round of Rhodes with the bicyclesWe began with our bikes from the northwest of the island to end up northeast. We stayed a night at the Hotel Elafos and it was like stepping back in time. The hotel was built in 1929, under Italian administration. During the Second World War, it was used as an accommodation for Italian officers and later as a military hospital for the Germans.

August 27th, we ride by the coast. One of the “Cities of ancient Rhodes” Kameiros. It is located on the northwest coast of the island.

The 31st of August found us in the ancient city of Lindos, which is a very popular tourist destination. Lindos has a unique beauty and it is a traditional settlement.

We continued our trip by train from Athens to Katerini. The strong winds and the rain did not allow us to ride. Besides, we had limited time. Cycling we arrived in Kastoria. Back home and preparations for the next trip.
